ORDINANCE NO, 2000-054
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT APPENDIXH OF SECTION 25-17 OF
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY
REVISING THE PLUMBING PERMIT AND INSPECTION FEES FOR
WHEN A BUILDING PERMIT IS NOT REQUIRED; PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; MAKING
OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT;
AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, finds and determines that
significant costs are incurred by the City in processing permits and performing inspections under the
City's Plumbing Code; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate to assess an additional portion of those
costs on the parties seeking permits and inspections pursuant to said Plumbing Code; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Local Government Code, the City Charter, and the Constitution and
laws of the State of Texas authorize the City to assess fees and costs incident to the regulation of
plumbing within the City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1, That the findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all things
approved,
Section 2. That Section 25-17 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as follows:

'''The above table of fees shall apply in the event that application for
permit is made prior to the beginning of any plumbing work requiring
a permit. In the event any plumbing work requiring a permit is
commenced without having procured a permit, as provided herein,
then there shall be a fee, in addition to the above table of fees, of
twenty dollars ($20,00) per day for each day delayed in procuring said
permit. The payment of such additional fee shall not be a bar to
prosecution for violation of Section 110, Violations and Penalties, of
the Plumbing Code as adopted by Sec, 25-16 and amended by Sec,
25-17 of the Code of Ordinances, '"
Section 3. That any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty
of a Misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and each
and every day's continuance of any violation of the above-enumerated section shall constitute and
be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby
expressly repealed,
Section 5. That this ordinance shall become effective on December 1,2000,
