AN ORDINANCE CLOSING THE FOLLOWING STREETS LOCATED ENTIRELY
WITHIN THAT AREA OF THE CITY OF PARIS KNOWN AS THE GEORGE W.
WRIGHT HOMES: BRAME STREET FROM THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF 9TH
STREET S.W., WEST TO THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF 10TH STREET S.W.;
CHISM STREET FROM THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF 7TH STREET S.W., WEST
TO THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF 10TH STREET S.W.; 9TH STREET S.W. FROM
THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF CHISM STREET, NORTH OF THE SOUTH
BOUNDARY LINE OF BRAME STREET; AND 10TH STREET S.W. FROM THE NORTH
BOUNDARY LINE OF WASIDNGTON STREET NORTH TO THE SOUTH BOUNDARY
LINE OF BRAME STREET; DECLARING NO NECESSITY OR NEED OF SAID
STREETS FOR CITY USE OTHER THAN FOR DRAINAGE AND UTILITY
EASEMENTS, WHICH ARE EXPRESSLY RETAINED BY THE CITY OF PARIS; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JULY 12,1999.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris
that the following streets located entirely within that area of the City of Paris known as the George
W. Wright Homes: Brame Street from the east boundary line of 9th Street S. W., west to the west
boundary line of 10th Street S.W.; Chism Street from the west boundary line of 7th Street S.W.,
west to the east boundary line of 10th Street S. W .; 9th Street S. W. from the north boundary line
of Chism Street, north of the south boundary line of Brame Street; and 10th Street S. W. from the
north boundary line of Washington Street north to the south boundary line of Brame Street, are
of no use as streets to the City of Paris or to its citizens, but are of use and necessary to the City
of Paris and its citizens for drainage and utility easement purposes, and the City Council so finds;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the following streets located entirely within that area of the City of Paris
known as the George W. Wright Homes: Brame Street from the east boundary line of 9th Street
S.W., west to the west boundary line of 10th Street S.W.; Chism Street from the west boundary
line of 7th Street S.W., west to the east boundary line of 10th Street S.W.; 9th Street S.W. from
the north boundary line of Chism Street, north of the south boundary line of Brame Street; and
10th Street S. W. from the north boundary line of Washington Street north to the south boundary
line of Brame Street, are found to be of no use as streets to the City of Paris or its citizens, but
are of use and necessary to the City of Paris and its citizens for drainage and utility easement
purposes; therefore, such streets are hereby closed, with the City of Paris retaining drainage and
utility easements.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective on July 12, 1999.
