1999-004-ORD PROVIDING CODE OF ORDINANCES BE AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 12-1 OF SAID CODE
ORDINANCE NO. 99-004
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING
SECTION 12-1, OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR EXPANSION OF THE FIRE
DEPARTMENT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY
11, 1999.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Section 12-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows:
"Sec. 12-1. Composition of department.
"The fire department of the City shall be composed of the fire chief, fire
marshal-assistant fire chief and fifty-two (52) members classified as follows:
"(1) One (1) fire training officer.
"(2) Three (3) deputy fire chiefs.
"(3) Nine (9) fire engineers.
"(4) Six (6) fire fighter drivers.
"(5) Thirty-three (33) fire fighters."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on January 11, 1999.
