AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY
THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISIDNG A MULTIPLE FAMILY
DWELLING DISTRICT NO.1 (MF-l) ON LOTS 2,3, AND 4, CITY BLOCK 243, ON
PROPERTY BELONGING TO D. C. FORD, MICHAEL USRY, AND LA FREIDA STONE,
SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE-
FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO.2 (SF-2) AND GENERAL RETAIL (GR);
DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING
DISTRICT NO.1 (MF-l) SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO
EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH
1, 1999.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the boundaries heretofore established by the Zoning Map and Ordinance
No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, changed, and that a
MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO.1 (MF-1) be, and the same is hereby,
established on LOTS 2,3, AND 4, CITY BLOCK 243, on property belonging to D. C. FORD,
MICHAEL USRY, AND LA FREIDA STONE, so as to include in such MULTIPLE FAMILY
DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 1 (MF-l) the hereinafter described property, which was formerly
and is presently designated as a ONE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO.2 (SF-2) AND
GENERAL RETAIL (GR), and that the boundaries of said MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING
DISTRICT NO.1 (MF-1), be, and the same are hereby, established as follows:
SITUA TED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, and State of Texas, being a part of the Asa Jarman Survey, being Lots 2,
3, and 4, City Block 243, and being more particularly described as follows:
LOT 2:
BEGINNING at a point for comer, being the Southeast comer of Lot 2 and
being the Northwest corner of the intersection of Bonham Street and 25th Street
N.W.;
THENCE West along the North Boundary Line of Bonham Street a distance
of 269 feet to a point for corner, being the Southwest comer of said Lot 2;
THENCE North along the West Boundary Line of said Lot 2 a distance of
180 feet to a point for corner, being the Northwest corner of said Lot 2;
THENCE East a distance of 269 feet to a point for corner in the West
Boundary Line of 25th Street N. W., being the Northeast comer of said Lot 2;
THENCE South along the West Boundary Line of 25th Street N.W. a
distance of 180 feet to the place of beginning.
LOT 3:
BEGINNING at a point for comer in the North Boundary Line of Bonham
Street, being the Southeast corner of Lot 3;
THENCE East along the North Boundary Line of Bonham Street a distance
of 105 feet to a point for comer, being the Southwest comer of said Lot 3;
THENCE North a distance of 285 feet to a point for corner, being the
Northwest comer of said Lot 3;
THENCE West a distance of 105 feet to a point for corner, being the
Northeast comer of said Lot 3;
THENCE South a distance of 285 feet to the place of beginning, being in
the North Boundary Line of Bonham Street, and being the Southeast comer of said
Lot 3.
LOT 4:
BEGINNING at the Southeast comer of a lot deeded from J. A. Rice to L.
B. Rice, the same being on the North Boundary Line of the Good Roads extension
of the Boulevard or Bonham Street;
THENCE West along the North Boundary Line of Bonham Street a distance
of 105 feet to a point for corner, being the Southwest Corner of Lot 4;
THENCE North along the West Boundary Line of said Lot 4 a distance of
285 feet to a point for comer, being the Northwest comer of said Lot 4;
THENCE East a distance of 105 feet to a point for corner, being the
Northeast comer of said Lot 4;
THENCE South a distance of 285 feet to the place of beginning in the North
Boundary Line of Bonham Street, being number 2500 Bonham Street.
Section 2. That the Chief Building Official of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby,
directed to change the Zoning Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the provisions of
Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use map accompanying the same, and in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of
a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and
each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above-enumerated sections shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective March 1, 1999.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Paris, in regular session
convened, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on this the 8th day of February,
1999.
