AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY
THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISIDNG A PUBLIC LANDS AND
INSTITUTION DISTRICT (PLI) ON LOT 1, CITY BLOCK 152, ON PROPERTY
BELONGING TO THE CITY OF PARIS, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY
FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO.1
(MF-l); DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE PUBLIC LANDS AND
INSTITUTION DISTRICT (PLI) SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY
NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE OF MARCH 1, 1999.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the boundaries heretofore established by the Zoning Map and Ordinance
No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, changed, and that a
PUBLIC LANDS AND INSTITUTION DISTRICT (PLI) be, and the same is hereby, established
on LOT 1, CITY BLOCK 152, on property belonging to CITY OF PARIS, so as to include in
such PUBLIC LANDS AND INSTITUTION DISTRICT (PLI) the hereinafter described property,
which was formerly and is presently designated as a MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLING
DISTRICT NO.1 (MF-1), and that the boundaries of said PUBLIC LANDS AND INSTITUTION
DISTRICT (PLI), be, and the same are hereby, established as follows:
SITUA TED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, State of Texas, being a part of the Asa Jarman Survey, being Lot 1, City
Block 152, being the same property described in deed from A. W. Whatley and
wife, Pauline Whatley, to Isabel Raissez and wife, Mary Ann Raissez, dated
September 19, 1984, and recorded in Volume 675, Page 719, Deed Records,
Lamar County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a stake on the comer of 9th Street S. W. (formerly Wright
Street) and W. Brame Street, being the intersection of the East Boundary Line of
9th Street S.W. and South Boundary Line of West Brame Street;
THENCE South with the East Boundary Line of 9th Street S. W. (formerly
Wright Street) a distance of 186 feet to the North Boundary Line of an alley 15 feet
wide;
THENCE East with the North Boundary Line of said alley a distance of 77
feet to the Southwest comer of a tract of land deeded by Lucy Whitten et al to W.
W. Wright, recorded in Volume 290, Page 142, Deed Records, Lamar County,
Texas;
THENCE North with said Wright's West Boundary Line a distance of 186
feet to a stake in the South Boundary Line of W. Brame Street;
THENCE West with said South Boundary Line of W. Brame Street a
distance of 77 feet to the place of beginning, being the same lot conveyed to Roy
A. Parham and wife, Audry Maurice Parham, by Lucy Whitten Easton et al by
deed dated May 12, 1947, recorded in Volume 298, Page 9, Deed Records, Lamar
County, Texas, and being number 829 Brame Street.
Section 2. That the Chief Building Official of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby,
directed to change the Zoning Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the provisions of
Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use map accompanying the same, and in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of
a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and
each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above-enumerated sections shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective March 1, 1999.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Paris, in regular session
convened, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on this the 18th day of February,
1999.
