AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY
OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING mE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY
THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING AN OFFICE DISTRICT (0) ON
LOT 100A, CITY BWCK 29, ON PROPERTY BELONGING TO GLENDA CLARKSON,
SO AS TO INCLUDE mEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A
MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO.1 (MF-l); DESIGNATING THE
BOUNDARIES OF THE OFFICE DISTRICT (0) SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR
A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS
OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE OF MAY 1, 1999.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That the boundaries heretofore established by the Zoning Map and Ordinance
No. 1710 of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be, and the same are hereby, changed, and that an
OFFICE DISTRICT (0) be, and the same is hereby, established on LOT IO-A, CITY BLOCK
29, on property belonging to GLENDA CLARKSON, so as to include in such OFFICE
DISTRICT (0) the hereinafter described property, which was formerly and is presently designated
as a MULTIPLE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. I (MF-l), and that the boundaries of
said OFFICE DISTRICT (0), be, and the same are hereby, established as follows:
SITUATED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, and State of Texas, being a part of the Larkin Rattan Survey, being Lot lO-
A, City Block 29, also being the same property described in deed from Melvin Bill
White and wife, Christine White to Opal King, recorded in Volume 535, Page 79,
Lamar County Deed Records, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of the intersection of East Houston
Street and 8th Street N.E. (formerly North High or 26th Street);
THENCE West, with the North Boundary Line of East Houston Street, a
distance of 112.6 feet to a stake;
THENCE North a distance if 84 feet to the Southwest corner of a lot set
aside in Partition to Mack R. Thompson;
THENCE East, with the South Boundary Line of his lot, a distance of
112.6 feet to a stake in the West Boundary Line of 8th Street N.E.;
THENCE South, with the West Boundary Line of 8th Street N.E., a
distance of 84 feet to the place of beginning, being number 107 8th Street N.E.
Section 2. That the Chief Building Official of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby,
directed to change the Zoning Map of the City of Paris in accordance with the provisions of
Ordinance No. 1710 and the land use map accompanying the same, and in accordance with the
provisions of this ordinance.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be guilty of
a Misdemeanor, and, upon conviction, shall be fined in any sum not to exceed $2,000.00, and
each and every day's continuance of any violation of the above-enumerated sections shall
constitute and be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective May I, 1999.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Paris, in regular session
convened, in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on this the 6th day of April, 1999.
