ORDINANCE NO. 99-041
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT
THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY O}~ PARIS, BE AMENDED BY REVISING
SECTION 26-1, OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING FOR EXPANSION OF THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE O}~ JULY 1,
1999.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
Section 1. That Section 26-1 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas,
be, and the same is hereby, amended so that such shall read as follows:
"Sec.26-1. Composition of department.
"The police department of the city shall be composed of the chief of police, and fifty-nine
(59) members classified as follows:
"(1) One (1) assistant chief.
"(2) Three (3) police lieutenants.
"(3) Ten (10) police sergeants.
"(4) Three (3) police corporals.
"(5) Forty-two (42) police privates."
Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly
repealed.
Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective on July 1, 1999.
