12/18/2013 MINUTESMINUTES REGULAR MEETING CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 18.2013 4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. 1. The meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission was called to order at 4:05 p.m. by Chair Ben Vaughan. A. The following commissioners were present: Chair Ben Vaughan, Nancy Anderson, David Stewart, Beatrice Ardila, and Lauri Redus (arrived during item 5). B. Vice Chair Douglas Cox and Michael Glatfelter were absent C. Also present: Joey Sleeper, Historic Preservation Officer 2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings (December 04, 2013). Chair Vaughan requested changes to correct the spelling of Mr. Hunter's name and change wording in item3 to change wording from "home designs " to 'front elevations " Motion was made by Commissioner Anderson and seconded by Commissioner Stewart to approve the minutes as amended. The motion carried 4 -0. 3. Review of letter to Doyle Whitaker, Paris Living, concerning appropriateness of proposed designs in the Church Street Historic District. Chair Vaughan introduced the item and requested the letter be changed to reflect only the approval of the front elevations of the homes instead the overall design of the homes. Mr. Sleeper stated that he would make the changes and issue the letter to Mr. Whitaker. No action was taken. 4. Future Agenda Items. Mr. Sleeper explained that the next scheduled meeting would be Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at noon. He also invited the commissioners to attend a grant presentation to Scott McDowell for renovations he had done to 2 West Plaza at 1: 00 pm that same day. 5. Sign Ordinance discussion The commission discussed proposed requirements for banners, seasonal and temporary signs and decorations, directory signs, murals, wall signs, and window signs. No action was taken. 6. Adjournment. - � With no other matters to discuss, a motion to adjourn was made b� Gla ughan and seconded by Commissioner Anderson. The motion carried 5-0.
