SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MONDAY OCTOBER 7.2013
4:00 O'CLOCK P.M.
1. The meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair Ben
Vaughan.
A. The following commissioners were present: Chair Ben Vaughan, Nancy Anderson, David
Stewart, Lauri Redus, Douglas Cox and Beatrice Ardila
B. One position is vacant
C. Also present: Joey Sleeper, Historic Preservation Officer
2. Review sign ordinance for Historic Districts.
Chair Vaughan introduced the item. Mr. Sleeper explained that the mayor had appointed a
committee to review the city's sign ordinance forpossible amendments, and that the committee requested
this Commission to reviewproposed requirements specific to signs in the Downtown Historic District. The
Commission discussed proposed provisions for purpose and objectives; sign area, number, and size; sign
materials; and lighting of signs. No action was taken.
3. Adjournment
With no other matters to discuss, a motion to adjourn was made by Chair Vaughan and seconded
by Commissioner Anderson. The motion carried 4 -0 (Commissioners Redus and Stewart left the
meeting earlier).
Meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
