02/05/2008 MINUTES06/05/2008 15:04 9037842503 PAGE 03 PARIS VISITORS AND CONVENTION COUNCIL MINUTES February 5, 2008 Present: Bobby Walters, Jesse Freelen, George Kimbrough, Suzy Harper, Tim Masters, Roy Gwinn, Helen Short, Derald Bulls, Mindy Moree, Pete Kampfer, and Becky Semple Chairman Bobby Waiters called the meeting to order. Guest attending today's meeting was Connie Beard with the Paris News. Mindy Moree presented the financials, and Bobby Walters made a motion to approve the financials, and Tim Masters seconded the motion, New Business: The minutes were presented from the last meeting. Helen Short made a motion to approve the minutes as read, and George Kimbrough made the second. Funding Requests from the Breakfast optimist for two baseball tournaments, were presented. Request of $2,000.00 for the 9 & under, and 11 & under double Baseball tournament Request of $2,000.00 for 8 & under tournament One of the tournaments will be the same weekend as Tour de Paris, and there was discussion to schedule the tournament for another weekend, but the decision was made to leave the date for the tournament as scheduled. Bobby Walters made a motion that funding requests for these tournaments be approved, and George Kimbrough made the second. Future Business: There was discussion concerning the need for a Trolley Car to unite Main Street, the Chamber, the Lamar County Historical Society Museum, Love Civic Center and the Eiffel Tower, and many other points of interest in Paris.
