Minutes of the Meeting
August 1, 2008
Present: Pete Kampfer, Bobby Walters, Gail Dority, Mike Patterson, Mary Lou
Coe, Becky Semple, Kevin Carruth., Connie Beard and Mindy Moree, George
Kimbrough, Don Wall and Lin.di. Christian.
Chairman Bobby Walters called the meeting to order at 4:00 and welcomed
Connie Beard from The Paris News.
Mindy Moree gave the financial report for the month ending June 30, 2008. The
financials were approved on a motion by Gail Dority, seconded by George
Kimbrough.
Minutes from the last council meeting, June 1.9, 2008 were approved on a motion
made by George Kimbrough seconded by Mary Lou Coe.
New Business: Bobby Walters reported that the subcommittee met and made
recommendations to the following funding request based off of the funding
criteria point system.
It was recommended that the lied River Valley Honkers Antique Car Club
receive 80% totaling $2000; City of Paris Pumpkin Festival receive 67% totaling
$1675; and Southern Gospel Music /association receive 80% totaling $2000. an a
motion made by Mary Lou Coe seconded by Gail Dority the funding
recommendations were approved unanimously.
Bobby Walters .reported that be would like to see the V &CC board become more
active in helping staff with preparing for events, such as the Tour de Paris.
With no further business to come before the board the meeting was adjourned at
4:20 PM.
