The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session Wednesday, February
15, 2006, at 4:00 PM in the library. The following Board members were present: Jackie
Alsobrook, Debbie Anderson, Deborah Hatley, Audrey Lakes and Fran Neeley. Also
attending was Priscilla McAnally, Library Director.
The minutes from the January meeting were approved.
The budget report was favorable.
Ms. McAnally discussed the need for a new board member. Board member Carl Lucas
submitted a letter of resignation effective February 8, 2006 due to relocation of his family
to Arkansas.
Ten new chairs have been received for the area around the reference desk. More will
probably be ordered.
Desks for the back office area have been ordered and are expected to arrive within 90
days. The desks were purchased with monies from the Loan Star Libraries grant.
No written report available for January circulation. Josie Carrington, library worker who
provides the report, has resigned.
Friends of the Library president Amanda Green is on maternity leave but submitted the
following report:
The library is continuing to bring in $80 -150 per week on book sales.
Spring meeting announcements will go out next month for the April 24 luncheon.
A Junior Friends group will be organized this summer.
Officer positions are available in the Friends of the Library group.
Work continues on a book donation program with Primary Care Associates (PCA) to
benefit underprivileged children.
The meeting adjourned at 4:20 PM.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, March 22, 2006 in the Gallery.
