The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met Wednesday afternoon, October 29, 2008, at 4 p.m. in the Library
Gallery. Attending were Deborah Hatley, Eddie Poole, Hilda Mallory, Linda Vandiver, Debbie Anderson, and
Library Director Priscilla McAnally. In the absence of the chairman, Linda Vandiver conducted the meeting.
The minutes from the September meeting were approved as printed.
The Director reported that this year's Lone Star Library Grant from the Texas State Library is for $7972. She
proposes to use $4877 for new computers and printers for the library staff. The replaced computers will be
recycled for use by library patrons. Expenses for patron cards will come to another $2077. The remainder of the
grant will be used for courier service for interlibrary loans so patrons will not be charged shipping expenses for
those requests.
Library expenses for 2007 -2008 came in under budget by $25,180. Circulation, library visits, volunteer hours
new cards, reserves, and interlibrary loans for September were all up over the 2007 figures.
The Friends of the Library spring luncheon will feature the author of The Heretic's Daughter. She will come for
travel expenses only.
There being no further business on the agenda, the meeting was adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
