Minutes
The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met Wednesday afternoon, September 17, 2008, at 4 p.m. in the
Library gallery. Attending were Debbie Anderson, Linda Vandiver, Hilda Mallory, Bill Kennedy, Jackie
Alsobrook, and Library Director Priscilla McAnally.
Chairman Kennedy called the meeting to order. Minutes from the previous meeting were approved as printed.
The 2008 -2009 library budget is essentially the same as the 2007 -2008 budget. None of the requested employee
classifications was granted.
The Region 8 Service Center will sponsor two workshops in the library in October to promote reading in the
day care centers. The workshops are for day care center staff.
Statistical report showed library visits up over last year, but circulation down.
The Friends of the Library will sponsor a wine and cheese fundraiser in October at Reep's Furniture. A $50
check for books sold through Better World Books has been received.
The Paris Housing Authority would like to begin an after school program for their children. Program details as
to place, etc., need to be worked out.
The Director will be out of town October 15 -24. The next Advisory Board meeting will be moved to October
29.
There being no further business, the chairman adjourned the meeting at 4:35 p.m.
