REGULAR MEETING
CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 11, 2012
12:00 O'CLOCK P.M.
1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Paul Denney, Vice
Chairman at 12:00 p.m.
A. The following members were present:
Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman
Douglas Cox
Ben Vaughan
Nancy Anderson
Britin Bostick
B. The following members were absent:
Arvin Starrett, Chairman
David Stewart
C. Also present Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager; and Jeanna Scott, Historic
Preservation Officer.
2. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness:
A. 926 South Church Street — James N. McClesky — James McClesky, property
owner presented the petition. Mr. McClesky stated he is proposing to build a
storage shed in the backyard behind the fence. The storage building will be twelve
by twenty feet; the color will match the existing house. Commissioner Vaughan
asked what siding material will be used. Mr. McClesky stated he will be using
hardi - board. Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Britin Bostick to
approve the COA. Motion carried 5 -0.
3. Consideration of and action on the following Tax Exemption:
A. 7 East Plaza — Randy Rader — Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by
Nancy Anderson to approve the tax exemption. Motion carried 5 -0.
4. Presentation of J.J. Culbertson Family Video provided by Skipper Steely. Commission
viewed presentation video.
5. Future agenda items. Bring to the commission a modification to the guidelines to permit
a flora polymer paint coated aluminum clad wood window as an option for window
replacement.
6 Meeting adjourned at 12:17 p.m.
