SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
MONDAY, MAY 24, 2010
4:00 O'CLOCK P.M.
1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, Chairman at
4:00 p.m.
A. The following members were present:
Arvin Starrett, Chairman
Susan Scholz, Secretary
Douglas Cox
Matt Coyle
B. The following members were absent:
Paul Denney, Vice- Chairman
Ben Vaughan
Jerry Raper
C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff.
2. Approval of minutes from. previous minutes. (April 14, 2010)
Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Matt Coyle to approve the minutes for the April
14, 2010 meeting. Motion carried 4 -0.
3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificates of Appropriateness:
A. 326 S. Main Street — Paris Public Library — Scott's Custom Signs — Alex Pickering
presented the petition. Motion was made by Douglas Cox, seconded by Susan Scholz to
approve the COA as presented. Motion carried 4 -0.
B. 308 S. Main Street — YWCA — Scott's Custom Signs — Alex Pickering presented the petition.
Motion was made by Matt Coyle, seconded by Susan Scholz to approve the COA as
presented. Motion carried 4 -0.
C. 402 S. Main Street — Utilhty Masters — Scotts' Custom Signs — Alex Pickering presented the
petition. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Douglas Cox to approve the COA
as presented. Motion carried 4 -0.
4. Discussion of and possible action on comparative language of'the Design Guidelines on signage
versus the Sign Ordinance. No action taken.
S. Request items for. future agendas. Bring back item 4. Report from the Main Street Advisory Board.
Final approval of brochure for Historic District.
S. Meeting adjourned at 04:10 p.m.
