07/26/2010 MINUTESMINUTES SPECIAL MEETING CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MONDAY, JULY 26, 2010 4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. 1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, Chairman at 4:00 p.m. A. The following members were present: Arvin Starrett, Chairman Douglas Cox Ben Vaughan Matt Coyle B. The following members were absent: Susan Scholz, Secretary Jerry Raper Paul Denney, Vice- Chairman. C. Also present were Cheri Bedford, Main Street Coordinator; and Rhonda Rogers, City Council Member were also present. 2. Approval of minutes from previous minutes. (June 28, 2010; July 14, 2010) Motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes for the June 28, 2010 and July 14, 2010 meetings. Motion carried unanimously. 3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: A. 574 Church Street — Sears presented the petition. Motion was made and seconded to approve all except the bay windows. Motion carried unanimously. B. 222 Clarksville Street — David Norris presented the petition. Motion was made and seconded to approve the sign as presented. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Report, discussion and possible action on adopting policies and procedures for facade grants. Commission discussed the fagade policy and procedures. Motion was made and seconded to approve the Incentive Grant Program Policies and Procedures reflecting changes made by the commission. Motion carried unanimously. 5. Report and update, f -om the Main Street Advisory Board by Matt Coyle. Matt Coyle reported to the commission, informing the commission on the ongoing work at the Farmers Market. Currently they are working to clean the green areas at the market. 6. Future agenda items. Signage in the business district. City Manager /City Attorney on code enforcement. 7.
