11/10/2010 MINUTESMINUTES REGULAR MEETING CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1.0, 2010 12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. 1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, Chairman at 4:01 p.m. A. The following members were present: Arvin Starrett, Chairman Douglas Cox Ben Vaughan Susan Scholz, Secretary Paul Denney, Vice - Chairman Matthew Coyle Jerry Raper B. The following members were absent: None C. Also present were Jeanna Scott, City Staff, and Rhonda Rogers, City Council Member. 2. Consideration of and action on the following Tax Exemption Agreement: A. 222 Clarksville Street – Modern Autobody – Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Matt Coyle to approve the Tax Exemption. Motion carried 7 -0. — CONSENT AGENDA [Items appearing on this consent agenda may be approved by a single vote of the Commission, with such approval applicable to all items appearing on said agenda. If any Commission member desires to discuss and consider separately any item appearing on the consent agenda, that Commission member may do so by requesting that the item be removed from the consent agenda and considered as a separate item.] 3. Discussion of and possible action regarding the following structures considered by code inspectors to be in violation ofArticle III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled "Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures, " to determine whether such buildings or structures can be rehabilitated and designated on the National Register of Historic Places, as a recorded Texas Historic Landmark, or as historic property as designated by the City Council of 'the City of'Paris: A. 2208 W. Kaufman B. 2615 W. Sherman C. 1808 Margaret D. 40519`h Street N. W. E. 915 W. Cherry F. 1160 E. Hickory G. 1513 10`h Street N. E. H. 1033 7`h Street N.E. L 3164 th Street S. W. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, seconded by Paul Denney, to send all structures except 3C to the Building and Standards Commission for demolition since it cannot be rehabilitated nor does it have significant historical value. Motion carried 7 -0. Motion was made by Paul Denney, seconded by Douglas Cox to send 3C to Building and Standards Commission as a repair only. Motion carried 7 -0. 4. Future agenda items.
