10/21/2010 MINUTESMINUTES REGULAR MEETING AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD CITY OF PARIS — CITY HALL OLD COUNCIL CHAMBERS 135 If STREET S.E. PARIS, TEXAS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2010 5:30 O'CLOCK PM 1. The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Jack Ashmore at 5:30 p.m. A. The following members were present: Jack Ashmore Steve Gilbert Fred Williams Ray Ball Jerry Coyle Vic Ressler Billy Copeland B. The following members were absent: None C. Also present were Jeanna Scott, City Staff; Shawn Napier, Airport Director; and Edwin Pickle, Council Member. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (September 16, 2010) Motion was made by Steve Gilbert, seconded by Jerry Coyle to approve the minutes for the September 16, 2010 meeting. Motion carried 7 -0. 3. Update from Alex Pickering, Scott's Custom Signs regarding the Airport Sign. Alex Pickering not at meeting. Chairman Ashmore stated the frame is now painted. 4. Discussion of and possible action on bringing potential businesses to Cox Field. Steve Gilbert stated nothing new on the proposal that was submitted. This is not bad news; it means we are still in the running. Mr. Gilbert further stated there is another project that is coming through the governor's office due in November and its called project A.N.A. a national site location for a company that is building military aircraft. Mr. Gilbert needs a list of the five largest based aerospace business employers with in fifty miles of the site. Board members stated L3 in Greenville, E Systems, TNK machines, Magnum Engines, Legend Cub out of Sulphur Springs and another machine shop that is located in Blossom. Mr. Gilbert stated this is a test aircraft company, so the advantage is our air space because the metroplex is too crowded, so if any other ideas come to board members minds that would help support the proposal please give him a call. S. Request items ,for future agendas. Report from Airport Director and Airport Manager. Update on card reader. 6. Meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m. APPROVED THIS 13t" DAY OF JANUARY, 2010.
