10/18/2012 MINUTESMINUTES REGULAR MEETING AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD CITY OF PARIS — CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS 107 E. KAUFMAN STREET PARIS, TEXAS THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2012 5:30 O'CLOCK PM 1. The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Jack Ashmore, Chairman at 5:30 p.m. A. The following members were present: Fred Williams Jack Ashmore Billy Copeland Ray Ball Steve Gilbert Phillip Payne B. The following members were absent: Jerry Coyle C. Also present was Shawn Napier, Airport Director. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (September 20, 2012) Motion was made by Ray Ball, seconded by Fred Williams to approve the meeting minutes for September 20, 2012. Motion carried 6 -0. 3. Report from Shawn Napier, Airport Director: A. Status of Airport Improvements — Shawn Napier made a report to the advisory board members. Mr. Napier stated he met with Chris Leppert with KSA, the new pavement next to the terminal building has been approved by TXDOT. R.K. Hall is schedule to start on Monday, October 22, 2012 on lowering the electrical and phone cables and paving. Looking into getting some extra paving from R.K. Hall on the main entrance, around the terminals, and past the entry gate. Blue Bay is done with their contract. R.K. Hall's first contract is still active. Mr. Napier further stated he is trying to get R.K. Hall to finish up the asphalt work. Advisory board members ask if the taxi lights were working. Shawn Napier stated he would ask Jerry Richey. 4. Report, discussion and possible action on wrapping up the Fly -in 2012and setting a date for next year. Chairman Ashmore advised the board members of a complaint from the crew members on the C47 about the tickets. They expected a VIP ride, which was planned with the City Council Members. Shawn Napier presented the 2012 Financial Statement; the income was a little over $9,000 dollars and the expenses were a little over $8,000 dollars. Jack Ashmore stated they needed to get more sponsors next year's Fly -In. Advisory Board members discussed some concerns about the Fly -In for 2013. They expressed concerns which included whether they wanted another show for the public or a Fly -In for the pilots. If they do a show more security for the airplanes will be needed, since the public expects to be able to touch, handle, crawl on the airplanes and get free rides. Shawn Napier presented the proposed dates for the Fly -In for 2013. Billy Copeland stated he would look into when other airports are having their Fly -Ins. No action taken. S.
