12:00 O'CLOCK P.M.
The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry Christian at
12:00 p.m.
A. The following members were present:
Terry Christian, Chairman
Chester Martindale
Kyle McCarley
Allen Moore
Rick Hundley
B. The following members were absent:
None
C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff.
2. Approval of minutes. from previous meetings. (March 2, 2010)
Motion was made by Chester Martindale, seconded by Rick Hundley to approve the
minutes for the March 2, 2010 meeting. Motion carried 5 -0.
3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Melvia Strickland to
grant a variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Section 9- 602(5) which provides that "on a
corner lot used for one-
.family or two family dwellings both street exposures shall be
treated as fi-ont yards, with a minimum side yard width of twenty, five, feet" to allow no
minimum side yard width, which is a 25 foot variance (the owner is proposing to replace
an existing fence), on Lot Part of 19 and 23, Block 7, Brookside Addition, being number
2409 Clark Lane.
Public hearing was declared open.
A. There was no one to speak in favor of the petition.
B. There was no opposition.
Public hearing was declared closed.
Terry Christian stated he was concerned about the privacy fence obstructing visibility for
24"' Street residence. Jeanna Scott stated the proposed fence will have to be moved in six
inches to be out of the right of way. Ms. Scott further represented the petition to the board
members (petitioner did not attend meeting). Motion was made by Chester Martindale,
seconded by Rick Hundley to approve the variance request with the exception the fence
remain a chain link fence and be moved six inches out of the right of way. Motion carried
5 -0.
4. Meeting adjourned at 12.10 p.m.
