1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry Christian at
12:00 p.m.
A. The following members were present:
Terry Christian, Chairman
Chester Martindale
Kyle McCarley
Allen Moore
.Rick Hundley
B. The following members were absent:
None
C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff.
2. Approval of minutes, from previous meetings. (April 13, 2010)
Motion was made by Chester Martindale, seconded by Allen Moore to approve the minutes
for the April 13, 2010 meeting. Motion carried 5 -0.
3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Rita Reed to grant a
variance of Sign Ordinance 2008 -021, Section 28 -807) which provides that the "total sign
face area of all permanent signs combined on one property, including ground signs, pole
signs, attached signs, etc. shall not exceed one (1) square foot per front foot of lease. fascia,
or maximum of three hundred (300) square, feet, at any time, " to allow 1.96 square feet of
sign, face area per_ front, foot of lease fascia, which is a.96 square, foot variance on Lot 3, 4
and part of 6, City Block 287, being number 3572 Lamar Avenue (variance to apply to the
suite occupied by Divine Design only).
Public hearing was declared open.
A. Alex Pickering, Scott's Custom Signs, spoke in favor of the petition. Ms.
Pickering stated they wanted to put up a larger sign for visibility and the adjacent
signs would overpower the allowable sign.
B. There was no opposition.
Public hearing was declared closed.
Motion was made by Rick Hundley, seconded by Chester Martindale to approve the sign
variance. Motion carried 5 -0.
4. Meeting adjourned at 12:07 p.m.
