1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry Christian at
12:00 p.m.
A. The following members were present:
Allen Moore
Rick Hundley
Terry Christian, Chairman
Kyle McCarley
B. The following members were absent:
Bryan Glass
Jerry Hanning
Marilyn Smith
C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff.
2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (June 21, 2011)
Motion was made by Rick Hundley, seconded by Allen Moore to approve minutes for
the June 21, 2011 meeting. Motion carried 4 -0.
3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Stevie Jackson to grant
a variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Section 9- 602(5) which provides that "on a corner
lot used for one family or two-family dwellings both street exposures shall be treated as
front yards, with a minimum side yard width of twenty five feet" to allow a 10 foot
minimum side yard width, which is a 15 foot variance, on Lot 15, Block 1, Lane Place
Addition, being located in the 1300 Block of 14'x' Street N.E.
Public hearing was declared open.
A. The following individuals spoke in favor of the petition:
Stevie Jackson, 1211 M. L. K Jr. Drive, property owner, spoke in favor of the petition.
Mr. Jackson stated he is planning on building a home on the property. The home will face
14th Street and be approximately 30 feet wide and 24 feet deep. The proposed home will be
an investment property.
B. No one spoke in opposition.
Public hearing was declared closed.
Motion was made by Kyle McCarley, seconded by Allen Moore to approve the variance
request. Motion carried 4 -0.
4. Meeting adjourned at 12:07 p.m.
