The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Vice - Chairman Kyle McCarley at
12:02 p.m.
A. The following members were present:
Allen Moore
Rick Hundley
Terry Christian, Chairman (arrived at 12:07)
Kyle McCarley
Bryan Glass
Jerry Hanning
Marilyn Smith (arrived at 12:04)
B. The following members were absent:
None
C. Also present was Jeanna Scott, City Staff.
2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (October 4, 2011)
Motion was made by Allen Moore, seconded by Rick Hundley to approve minutes for
the October 4, 2011 meeting. Motion carried 5 -0.
3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Linda and Tommy Harris
to grant a variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Section 9- 602(5) which provides that "on a
corner lot used for one family or two-family dwellings both street exposures shall be
treated as front yards, with a minimum side yard width of twenty five (25)feet " to allow a
three (3) foot minimum side yard width, which is a twenty -two (22) foot variance, on Lot
North 60' of 6 and 7, Block 5, Belmont Addition, being located at 971 14`h Street N.E.
Public hearing was declared open.
A. The following individuals spoke in favor of the petition:
Tommy Harris, 2850 Ridgeview, property owner spoke in favor of the petition. Mr.
Harris stated a car ran thru the fence, tearing a large section out. They are proposing
to put the fence back using a 6 foot privacy fence and extend it 20 feet further up the
property not to extend past the front of the house.
B. No one spoke in opposition.
Public hearing was declared closed.
Motion was made by Rick Hundley, seconded by Jerry Harming to approve the variance
request. Motion carried 7 -0.
4. Meeting adjourned at 12:08 p.m.
