1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Rick Hundley, Chairman at 12:04
p.m.
A. The following members were present:
Rick Hundley
Bryan Glass
Jerry Haning
Nathan J. Bell V
Charles Richards
Allen Moore
Marilyn Smith
B. The following members were absent:
None
C. Also present was Shawn Napier, Director of Engineering, Planning and
Development.
2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (September 4, 2012)
Motion was made by Charles Richards, seconded by Jerry Haning to approve minutes for
the September 4, 2012 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0.
Bryan Glass arrived at 12:06.
3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Viola Robinson to grant a
variance of Zoning Ordinance 1710, Section 9- 201(1) which provides that the "minimum
lot width in a Two Family Dwelling District (2 -F) be no less than 60 feet" to allow a
minimum lot width of 46.5 feet, which is a 13.5 foot variance, on Lot 7 -C, City Block 79,
being number 205 West Provine Street.
Public hearing was declared open.
A. No one spoke in favor of the petition.
B. One individual spoke in opposition.
Mark Sells, 744 3'a Street N.W., spoke in opposition to the petition. Mr. Sells
stated he has a problem with the lot width. Mr. Sells further stated he was under the
impression that they were building a two family home on the lot. He does not want
two families occupying the lot.
Commissioners explained the details of the petition to Mr. Sells. The commission
stated the house that is going to be built by Habitat for Humanity will be a single
family home.
Public hearing was declared closed.
Motion was made by Allen Moore, seconded by Nathan J. Bell V. to approve the variance
request. Motion carried 7 -0.
4. Meeting adjourned at 12:21 p.m.
