02/21/2011 MINUTESMINUTES REGULAR MEETING BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION MONDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2011 4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. 1. Vicki Ballard acting Chairperson called the Building and Standards Commission meeting to order at 4:03 P.M. A. The following members were present: Johnny Norris Vicki Ballard Wendell Moore Lee Ann Barbee B. The following members were absent: Ryan Lassiter Chris Brown C. Also present was Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Officer. 2. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) and /or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of " a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled ASubstandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures@ : B. 1808 Margaret; Lot 7 and W25' of 8, Block 2, Anita Park Addition — Cheryl Larkin Wood spoke at the meeting. Ms. Wood asked for time to repair the home. Motion was made by Vicki Ballard, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 90 days to repair. If the property is not repaired in 90 days the City may assess a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. H. 41.0 Fitzhugh; Lot 5, City Block 66 -A — Mike Malone spoke at the meeting. Mr. Malone turned in plans to repair the structure enough to pass inspection. Motion was made by Wendell Moore, seconded by Johnny Norris, to allow 90 days to repair or demolish. If the property is not repaired or demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. A. 2208 West Kaufman; Lot 10, City Block 204 - Motion was made by Wendell Moore, seconded by Lee Ann Barbee, to allow 90 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. C. 2615 West Sherman; Lot PT 1, 2, and 3, Block C, Porter's 2" d Addition - �-. Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. D. 135 13th Street N.W.; Lot 7, City Block 190 - Motion was made by Wendell Moore, seconded by Johnny Norris, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. E. 147 13th Street N.W.; Lot 6, City Block 190 - Motion was made by Vicki Ballard, seconded by Johnny Norris, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. F. 316 0' Street S.W.; Lot 3, City Block 119 - Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 90 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. G. 3210 FR 195; A7 W Askins Survey, Tract 5 - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Johnny Norris, to allow 90 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. I. 424 Fitzhugh; Lot 6, City Block 66 -A - Motion was made by Vicki Ballard, seconded by Johnny Norris, to allow 90 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. J. 1513 10th Street N.E.; Lot 8, Block C, East Park Addition - Motion was made by Wendell Moore, seconded by Johnny Norris, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. K. 540 1St Street N.E.; Lot 3 and 19, City Block 92 - Motion was made by Wendell Moore, seconded by Johnny Norris, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. L. 5927 1h Street S.W.; Lot 13, City Block 133 - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 90 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. M. 8373 d Street S.W.; Lot 17, City Block 156 - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Johnny Norris, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. N. 915 West Cherry; Lot 4, City Block 51 - Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Wendell Moore, to allow 90 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. O. 124315 th Street S.E.; Lot 17, Block 9, Gibbons - Braden Addition - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. 3. Meeting adjourned at 4:45 P.M.
