01/20/2010 MINUTESr MINUTES REGULAR MEETING BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 20, 2010 4:00 O'CLOCK P.M. L Chris Brown called the Building and Standards Commission meeting to order at 4:00 P.M. A. The following members were present: Chris Brown Ryan Lassiter Vicki Ballard Zach Saffle Lee Ann Barbee B. The following members were absent: Bill Harris Wendell Moore C. Also present was Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Officer. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. (October 19, 2009) Motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes for the October 19, 2009 meeting. 3. Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and owner(s) and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled ASubstandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures @: A. 35512t" Street N.E.; Lot 21, City Block 70 — Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. B. 52914t" Street N.E.; Lot 3, Hicks 1St Addition - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil. penalty. Motion carried unanimously. C. 618 10"' Street N.E.; Lot 18, City Block 69 -A - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil r` penalty. Motion carried unanimously. D. 816 Cedar; Lot Part of 15, Block 5, Gibbons Park Addition - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. E. 826 Cedar; Lot 14, Block 5, Gibbons Park Addition - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. if the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. F. 210 8th Street N.E.; Lot 18, City Block 34 — Item pulled. G. 107 Grand Avenue; Lot 2, City Block 5 - Motion was made by Ryan Lassiter, seconded by Zach Saffle, to allow 90 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. H. 45912 th Street N.E.; Lot 28, City Block 70 - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. if the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. I. 1970 Clarksville Street; Lot 3, City Block 248 -B - Motion was made by Ryan Lassiter, seconded by Zach Saffle, to allow 90 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 90 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. J. 86013 1h Street; Lot 12, 13, 14, Block 4, Belmont Addition - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. K. 11.42 Grove Street; Lot 7, Block 8, Belmont Addition - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki. Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. L. 2356 East Cherry; Lot 5, City Block 257 -A - Motion was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. M. 1.017 5th Street N.E.; Lot 8, Block 4, Washington Heights Addition - Motion. was made by Lee Ann Barbee, seconded by Vicki Ballard, to allow 30 days to demolish. If the property is not demolished in 30 days the City may demolish, r — with a $1,000 per day civil penalty. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Meeting adjourned at 4:40 P.M.
