1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by
Chairman Arvin Starrett at 12:02 P.M.
A. The following members were present:
Arvin Starrett, Chairman
Sharon Nabors
Nancy Partridge
Susan Scholz
Alternate: Brian Wear
The following members were absent:
Paul Denney
Pike Burkhart
Ann Rogers
Alternate: Vanessa Preston
B. Also present was Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer.
2. Consideration of and action on clarifying Section II.A.4, of the Design
Guidelines for the Downtown Historic District. - Chairman Starrett advised the
Commission that they had been provided with a proposed revision to clear up
some vague wording. Motion was made by Brian Wear, seconded by Nancy
Partridge, to approve the proposed revisions with the additional of "even 3
divided windows." Motion carried 4 -0.
Susan Scholz arrived at 12:04 P.M.
3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness:
A. 111 LamarAvenue - Kari Daniel - Josiah Daniel, 2075 Sycamore, stated
that he would like to put in aluminum windows. Arvin Starrett passed
around a drawing to the Commissioners that the Daniels brought to the
meeting. In order to meet the guidelines, Chairman Starrett mentioned
the addition of an exterior mullion to bring the window into
conformance as to the style. It will give the look of 3 divided lights,
whereas the style proposed would not be appropriate. Josiah Daniel
stated that the proposed windows are just aluminum windows. Brian
Wear asked if the COA could be approved contingent on the material
being clad aluminum. Motion was made to approve by Brian Wear,
seconded by Susan Scholz, contingent upon the 3rd division and
approved exterior material. Motion carried 5 -0.
4. Meeting adjourned at 12:15 P.M.
