06/02/2009 MINUTESMinutes Traffic Commission City of Paris The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009, at 5:29 P.M. in the Municipal Courtroom with the following members present: 1. Stephen Holmes 2. George Kimbrough (via telephone) 3. Jon McFadden 4. Ray Banks The city staff was represented by Interim Asst. Chief Randy Tuttle. The meeting was called to order at 5:29 by Vice Chairman McFadden. A quorum was established by 4 members being present. Mr. McFadden asked the commission members to review the submitted minutes of the March 3rd, 2009 meeting. Mr. Banks made a motion to approve the minutes which was seconded by Mr. Holmes and passed 4 -0. Mr. McFadden moved to item #3 regarding discussion and action requesting a stop sign at 26th NE & Beverly. Mr. Tuttle informed the commission that a request had been made by a citizen living in the area to place a stop sign at this intersection due to traffic driving fast through the area and there being issues with vehicles not stopping at the uncontrolled intersection. Mr Tuttle informed members that there had been no reported accidents at the intersection within the last two years. Mr Holmes made a motion to deny the request for the stop sign at the intersection. The motion was second by Mr. Banks. Motion carried 4 -0. There were no future agenda requests. Mr. Banks moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Homes and approved 4 -0 ending the meeting at 5:35 PM.
