ZONING COMMISSION
AUGUST 22, 2005
The Planning and Zoning Commission met Monday, August 22, 2005, 5:10
P.M., Love Civic Center, 2025 S. Collegiate Street, Paris, Texas with the
following members present:
1. Reeves Hayter 4. Bobby L. Myers
2. Marshall Kent 5. Barbara Forrest
3. Benny Plata 6. Russell McCain
Lisa Wright, Director of Community Development, was also present.
1. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Reeves Hayter.
2. Consideration of and action on the Master Plat of the Parr -Hull
Medical Plaza and Commercial Center, Unit One, on Lots 1 -10,
located in the 3000 block of N. Main Street (south of Bodacious
Barbeque).
Motion was made to approve the plat, with no variance and subject
to the City Engineer's memo dated August 19, 2005, by Bobby Myers,
seconded by Benny Plata. Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0
nays.
3. Consideration of and action on the Preliminary Plat of the Parr -Hull
Medical Plaza and Commercial Center, Unit One, on Lots 1 -10,
located in the 3000 block of N. Main Street (south of Bodacious
Barbeque).
Motion was made to approve the preliminary plat, subject to the City
Engineer's memo dated August 19, 2005, by Benny Plata, seconded
by Bobby Myers. Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays.

4. Consideration of and action on the Preliminary Plat of RS
Enterprises on Lots 4A, 4B, and 4C, City Block 313, being located in
the 3800 block of Lamar Avenue.
Motion was made to excuse Reeves Hayter, from consideration of this
preliminary plat, by Marshall Kent, seconded by Bobby Myers.
Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes and 0 nays.
Marshall Kent assumed the chair.
Motion was made to approve the preliminary plat, subject to the City
Engineer's memo dated August 19, 2005, by Benny Plata, seconded
by Barbara Forrest. Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes and 0 nays.
Motion was made for Reeves Hayter to return to the meeting by
Benny Plata, seconded by Russell McCain. Motion carried by a vote
of 5 ayes and 0 nays.
5. Consideration of and action on recommending revisions to the
Neighborhood Service (NS) classification of zoning and /or permitted
activities under the Home Occupations classification.
Lisa Wright recommended to the Commission that the definition of
Home Occupation be revised to allow more variety of activities so
long as no traffic, noise, or other offensive side - product be created.
The Commission agreed and also recommended that Home
Occupations be permitted annually so that neighbors could protest if
the activity no longer qualified. Ms. Wright advised that she would
prepare a draft recommendation for review at the next meeting.
