06/01/2009 MINUTESMINUTES REGULAR MEETING PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS 107 E. KAUFMAN STREET PARIS, TEXAS MONDAY, JUNE 1, 2009 5:30 O'CLOCK P.M. 1. The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, June 1, 2009, was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Curtis Fendley, Chairman. A. The following members were present: Curtis Fendley, Bill Harris Richard Hunt Darin Manning Bee Gannon Keith Barnett B. The following members were absent: Benny Plata C. Shawn Napier, City Engineer; Jeanna Scott, Administrative Assistant; and Rhonda Rogers, City Council Member were also present. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meeting. (May 4, 2009) Motion was made by Bee Gannon, seconded by Bill Harris to approve the minutes for the May 4, 2009 meeting. Motion carried 6 -0 3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Wayne Brown for a change in zoning from an Planned Development District (PD -a) Retail Shopping Center to a General Retail District (GR) on Lots 25 and 26, City Block 249, being number 3070 Lamar Avenue. Public hearing was declared open. The following individuals spoke in favor of the petition. Wayne Brown, 3305 33rd Street N.E., Mr. Brown stated he asking for general retail, Planned Development would have to go thru Planning and Zoning for two months to get a site plan approval anytime changes are made to the outside lot. There was no opposition. Public hearing was declared closed. Motion was made by Keith Barnett, seconded by Darin Manning to approve zoning change request. Motion carried 6 -0. 4. Consideration ofand action on the Preliminaty Plat ofLot 1, Block A, C & R Development CB258 Addition, being number 625 25th Street N.E. Motion was made by Bill Harris, seconded by Keith Barnett to approve the plat subject to City Engineer's recommendations. Motion carried 6 -0. 5. Update from the sub - committee regarding the manufactured home ordinance. Bill Harris presented the update to the commissioners. 6. Meeting adjourned at 5:38 p.m. APPROVED THIS 6TH DAY OF JULY, 20
