The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry Christian at
12:00 p.m.
B. The following members were present:
Terry Christian, Chainnan
Chester Martindale
Kyle McCarley
David Glass
C. The following members were absent:
Howard Corriston
Louis Yates
C. Also present was Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Officer.
2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes of the January
6, 2009, meeting was made by Kyle McCarley, seconded by Chester Martindale. Motion.
carried 4 -0.
3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Lamar County Chamber
of Commerce to grant a variance of Section 28 -23(1) of the Sign Ordinance which provides
that "the total area per face of an attached sign shall not exceed one (1) square foot offace
area per front foot of leased or occupied, fascia length, " to allow 1.79 square foot of face
area per front foot of occupied fascia length, which is a .79 square foot per front foot
variance, on Lot 4, City Block 1, being number 8 West Plaza.
Public hearing was declared open.
The following individuals spoke in favor.
Shannon Barrentine, Lamar County Chamber of Commerce — Spoke in favor of the
petition.
No one spoke in opposition.
Public hearing was declared closed.
Motion was made by Kyle McCarley, seconded by Chester Martindale, to approve the
variance. Motion carried 4 -0.
4. Meeting adjourned at 12:10 p.m.
