Governing Board Minutes
Love Civic Center
Tuesday, November 10, 2015
Present: Bobby Walters, Kern Wright, Randy Nation, Jimmie Hopson, Chadlee Johnston, Linda Kapp, Dr.
Pam Anglin, Curtis Fendley, Robert High, Josh Bray, Stephen Gerrald and Troy Scholl.
Staff: Ken Higdon, Becky Semple, Gina Crawford
Curtis Fendley called meeting to order at 4:01 pm.
The minutes from September 2015, meeting was presented. Motion to approve was made Bobby
Walters, seconded by Robert High.
Josh Bray presented the financials.
Randy Nation reported there are still a few leaks on the roof and he is still waiting on a second bid.
Curtis Fendley reported that they are going to have Chaney draft a plan for the pad at east and RV spots
and a possible sewer line. Curtis Fendley spoke to Chaney and will have a bid by November 19, 2015.
Ken Higdon stated that the ATM was approved by the Chamber board and was ready to go. The civic
center will gain a small revenue. Motion to approve was made by Chad Lee Johnston, seconded by
Linda Kapp.
Pam Anglin reported that the rate committee had met and the recommendations were as follows:
The new rate structure will begin on January 1, 2016, except for those that are pre paid. Randy
Nation will send out a letter with the rate changes. An all day rental will be for 16 hours and cost
$1000, the new rate sheet will be attached to the minutes.
Randy Nation stated that we are still looking for floor bids.
Randy Nation reported that we received bids from Paris Air and Jamar Contractors to take care of the
yearly AC /Heat servicing. He also stated that Sanchez Lawn has been doing the lawn for many years and
we get a very good price. A motion to approve was made by Bobby Walters, seconded by Jimmie
Hopson.
A contract committee will be formed with Ken Higdon, Stephen Gerrald, Jimmie Hopson and Jeff Martin.
They will meet and discuss updating the LCC Contract for rental.
Becky Semple stated that VCC will pay a portion of the rental days used for Tour de Paris, ASA and
Chapparal.
The next meeting will be held on January 12, 2016, 4:00 pm.
With nothing further, meeting was adjourned at 5:00 pm.
