Love Civic Center
Thursday, August 12, 2015
Present: Bobby Walters, Kem Wright, Keith Compton, Randy Nation, Stephen Gerrald, Edwin Pickle,
Allan Fain, Ronny Bolton, Jimmie Hopson, Chadlee Johnston, Linda Kapp, Steve Keywood, Casey Ressler,
Kenneth Webb and Jeff Martin.
Staff: Ken Higdon, Becky Semple, Gina Crawford
Bobby Walters called meeting to order at 4:08 pm.
Jeff Martin gave the budget. A motion to pass was made by Kenneth Webb, seconded by Ronny Bolton.
Motion carried.
Ken Higdon spoke of the many improvements that the civic center needs. Roof repair, floor, floor
machine and handicap doors. Randy Nation gave some bids, but still waiting on more.
Ken Higdon also stated that a new brochure needs to be designed.
Ken Higdon, Randy Nation and Kern Wright spoke about the changing of fees at the civic center. They
have not been raised in many years. The board asked for Randy Nation to get information for the
September board meeting.
1. How many events have been turned down for weekend events?
2. Comparative rates with other civic centers.
3. Benchmark for other civic center management and fees.
4. A six month day of week rentals, comparing 1 side to both sides and what events are rolling
over?
5. Secondary location to work with civic center for a referral fee?
The next meeting will be held on September 10, 2015.
With nothing further, meeting was adjourned at 5:04 pm.
