SUBJECT: PARIS METRO PROGRESS

BACKGROUND: Paris Metro has been running a fixed route for many months now, with a
great deal of success. This excellent program is well -used and is making a difference in the lives
of many of its riders. Public transit for a large portion of the riders is not a matter of
convenience, but a matter of whether or not they get to school, work, and medical care.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Ark -Tex COG Transportation Coordinator Nancy Hoehn and Executive
Director Chris Brown will give an update presentation to the city council on May 22.
BUDGET: NA.
RECOMMENDATION: Presentation only.
