Meeting Minutes
May 17, 2017
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:08 p.m.
Present:
Board members present were Fran Neeley, Connie Dodd, Carol James, Rebecca Umphrey, and director
Priscilla McAnally. Denise Kornegay, Michelle Cowling, and Daisy Harvill were absent.
I. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the April meeting were unanimously approved as presented.
II. New Business:
The library's proposed budget for FY 2017 -18 was presented. The operating budget is
$205, 190 which is $8000 more than FY 2016 -17 but does include an $8000 payment
on the balance of the roof replacement.
III. Old Business:
We are awaiting an email from Lincoln Center Local with the instructions and link to
the application for booking and downloading the screenings.
IV. Presentations
A. Budget Report.
Spending is on track for this year. There were no budget concerns.
B. Statistical Report. Circulation and visits were down from April of last year.
V. Friends of the Library:
No report from the Friends this month.
VI. Director's Remarks
The director met with the Friends' co- chairs Amanda Green and Jeannie Walter about some
fundraising events specifically for the continued restoration/conservation of the library's art
work.
