Item No. 14 <br />memorandum <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Carla Easton, City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: 2013 BOND FUND - SOUTHEAST LIFT STATION CONSTRUCTION <br />CONTRACT AWARD <br />DATE: July 3, 2017 <br />BACKGROUND: The 2013 Bond Fund for Water and Sewer Improvements includes funding <br />for the Southeast Lift Station & Force Main Replacement Project, which consists of a complete <br />5.6 MGD lift station, approximately 4,000 feet of 18 -inch force main, 1,800 feet of access road <br />construction, and 900 feet of gravity main replacement. AECOM and Hayter Engineering <br />prepared the construction drawings and specifications. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: On June 27, 2017, seven bids were received for the project and RBIS <br />submitted the apparent low bid in the amount of $ $2,393,937.85. The bids were reviewed and <br />references checked in accordance with the contract documents, and the engineer of record has <br />submitted a recommendation of contract award to RBIS. The contract documents require this <br />project to be completed within 270 calendar days after issuance of the notice to proceed. <br />Construction is anticipated to begin in late August.
