1. Call meeting to order -Jill Drake Chairman at 4:40 pm
2. Citizens Forum -None present
3. Approval of May 9, 2017 Minutes Motion made by Shelley McDowell seconded by Laurie Redus. Motion
carried.
4. Report on failed Vacancy Ordinance- Cleonne Drake Council Liaison – Presented a review of the Ordinance —the
council wanted to be more sensitive to property owner's rights and to have more insight to what the property
owners felt about this ordinance- council felt that it should be reconsidered after more interviews and work on the
wording and fine levels
5. Main Street Managers updates- Cheri Bedford - report given by Jill Drake
• Buskers: We have had people who want to play during events: there are some guidelines that help
everyone know what is expected. Shelly has them and I would like everyone to review them. Shelley
presented them and they were discussed. Board decided to discuss at next meeting when we have new
members. Placed on future agenda items
• TDA awards: http:// www .texasdowntown.org/presidents- awards.html Please go to this link, on the right
side of the page is the categories. Please review and make suggestions as to who we want to nominate.
• Lighting – Complete in downtown Looks great.
• Google Doc for Ctee: Is everyone familiar with Google docs? It is a free account, mobile friendly and
meetings and notes can be shared with this format. Please bring up google doc, and look it over. Large
amounts of information can be viewed, reviewed, and changed where all can see. Let me know what the
committee thinks about this.
• Resignation Randy Hider We have 5 vacates. Three are new members needed. Please remind everyone to
go to June 26 council if they want to introduce themselves to the council for consideration. Motion made
by Glee Emmite to accept his resignation and seconded by Shelley McDowell. Motion carried.
6. Main Street Board Updates and work plan review: MSAB Promotion committee met Monday night and prepared
all the craft event for Movies in the Park also discussed upcoming Farmers Market event "A Market Square Affair ",
FM T -Shirts available for sale $6 -10 depending on the size
7. Committee Liaison Reports —
a. HPC- Glee reported going to first meeting there will be vacancies on that board also
b. Chamber & VCC – Becky Semple- Absent noted Mercedes Club will visit Paris this Saturday
8. Future Agenda Items- 1. Resend copy to MBAB so we can Study Vacancy Ordinance and offer suggestions to
modify for resubmission to council 2. Buskers Discuss so new members can understand and decide if we wish to
adopt this policy 3 Preservation Camp is coming July 26th, and it is an all -day camp and we are the hosts (BPC) If
there is any way any of you all can make it, please do. This is great training and cross training for Main Street, and so
grateful that we were selected to do this training.
8. Motion to adjourn was made by Glee Emmite seconded by Shelley McDowell. Motion carried at 5:22 pm.
