1999-039-REIMBURSEMENT OF WATER AND/OR SEWER MAIN EXTENSION

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of
November, 1998, in Ordinance No. 98-064, revise Section IX of Ordinance No. 1315 of the City
of Paris to provide for a repayment plan for pro rata charges when the City of Paris acts as the
sponsor of a water and/or sewer main extension; and,
WHEREAS, said revision provides for reimbursements of pro rata charges to based on
a period of time not to exceed seven (7) calendar years from the date the first water and/or sewer
tap is made to serve a property; and,
WHEREAS, said revision also provides that the length of time granted for such
reimbursement and the frequency of payments shall be at the discretion of the City Council and
shall be based upon the amount of the pro rata charges; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City Council set a policy governing the
length of time granted for such reimbursements; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed reasonable that the monthly payment for said reimbursements
be not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for a period not to exceed seven (7) years; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL Q}' THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
monthly payment for the reimbursement of water and/or sewer improvement assessments shall be
not less than twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for a period not to exceed seven (7) years.
