SUBJECT: BOARD APPOINTMENTS
DATE: July 7, 2017
BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards, Commissions, and Committees adopted
by City Council require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in
June.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Appointments were made on June 26. Planning & Zoning Commissioner
Mike Folmar was appointed to serve on the Building & Standards Commission, leaving an
unexpired vacancy on P &Z. Currently, we have applications from Barney Bray, Bradley Foster,
Mustafa Hashmi, Jerry Harting, and Shawn Welch.
Library Advisory Board appointee Angelica Black informed city staff that she has moved out of
the city, and one of the requirements to serve on this board is you must be a resident of the city
of Paris. Currently, we have applications from Michelle Cowling and Rebecca Umphrey.
BUDGET: N/A
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint one member to fill the vacancy on the Planning & Zoning
Commission and one member to fill the vacancy on the Library Advisory Board.
