1999-060A-SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED TO FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
RESOLUTION NO. 99-060-A
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of May,
1969, in Ordinance No. 1902, close 4th Street S.E. from the North Boundary Line of Clarksville
Street to the South Boundary Line of Lamar Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of May,
1969, in Resolution No. 1304, authorize the execution of a quit claim deed to the First Methodist
Church of Paris for said street; and,
WHEREAS, such quit claim deed was never filed and its whereabouts are unknown, and
the City Council of the City of Paris has been presented with a request from First United
Methodist Church of Paris, Inc. that a new special warranty deed be executed; and,
WHEREAS, the form of the Special Warranty Deed, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should,
in all things, be approved, and the Mayor Pro Tem, Mary Ann Fisher, should be authorized to
execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
Special Warranty Deed to First United Methodist Church of Paris, Inc. conveying 4th Street S. E.
from the North Boundary Line of Clarksville Street to the South Boundary Line of Lamar Avenue,
attached hereto as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor Pro Tem, Mary Ann Fisher, be, and she
is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Special Warranty
Deed, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.

COUNTY OF LAMAR
That the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, a municipal corporation of the County of
Lamar, State of Texas, acting by and through its Mayor Pro Tem, Mary Ann Fisher, duly
authorized by Resolution No. 99-063, for and in consideration of the sum of Ten and no/loo
Dollars ($10.00) cash and other good and valuable consideration to it in hand paid by First United
Methodist Church of Paris, Inc., the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged;
has Granted, Sold, and Conveyed, and by these presents does Grant, Sell and Convey unto the
said First United Methodist Church of Paris, Inc. of the County of Lamar, State of Texas, whose
mailing address is 322 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas 75460, all that certain tract or parcel of land
situated in Lamar County, Texas, and described as follows:
Situated within the Corporate Limits of the City of Paris, Lamar County,
Texas, and being described as follows:
BEGINNING at the northeast corner of the intersection of the east boundary
line of 4th Street S.E. and the south boundary line of U.S. Highway 82 (Lamar
Avenue);
THENCE southerly with the east boundary line of 4th Street S.E. a distance
of approximately 216 feet, more or less, to a point in the north boundary line of
U.S. Highway 271 (Clarksville Street);
THENCE westerly with the north boundary line of U.S. Highway 271
(Clarksville Street) a distance of approximately 40 feet, more or less, to a point in
the west boundary line of 4th Street S.E.;
THENCE northerly with the west boundary line of 4th Street S.E. a
distance of approximately 216 feet, more or less, to a point in the south boundary
line of U.S. Highway 82 (Lamar Avenue);
THENCE easterly with the south boundary line of U.S. Highway 82
(Lamar A venue) a distance of approximately 40 feet, more or less, to the place of
beginning.
SA VE AND EXCEPT, a drainage and utility easement is retained by
Grantor to the above-described property, which utility easement gives the right and
privilege to Grantor of placing utilities above, on, and over said easement and the
right to maintain any and all utilities placed therein.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above-described premises, together with all and singular,
the rights and appurtenances thereto in anywise belonging unto the said First United Methodist
Church of Paris, Inc., its successors and assigns forever; and it does hereby bind itself, its
successors and assigns, to Warrant and Forever Defend ail and singular the said premises unto the
said First United Methodist Church of Paris, Inc., its successors and assigns, against every person
whomsoever lawfully claiming, or to claim the same, or any part thereof, by, through or under
it, but not otherwise.
