1999-076-PUBLIC HEARING, CLOSE STREETS LOCATED WITHIN GEORGE W. WRIGHT HOMES
RESOLUTION NO. 99-076
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is in receipt of a petition from the
adjacent property owner requesting that all portions of the following streets located entirely within
that area of the City of Paris known as the George W. Wright Homes be closed: Brame Street
from the east boundary line of 9th Street S.W., west to the west boundary line of 10th Street
S.W.; Chism Street from the west boundary line of 7th Street S.W., west to the east boundary line
of 10th Street S.W.; 9th Street S.W. from the north boundary line of Chism Street, north of the
south boundary line of Brame Street; and 10th Street S.W. from the north boundary line of
Washington Street north to the south boundary line of Brame Street; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that such
request for street closing be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paris
and that a recommendation be made to the City Council for final action; and,
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that a public hearing be set before the Planning and
Zoning Commission at 5:30 p.m., in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on the
6th day ofJuly, 1999; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
matter of closing all portions of the following streets located entirely within that area of the City
of Paris known as the George W. Wright Homes be closed: Brame Street from the east boundary
line of 9th Street S.W., west to the west boundary line of 10th Street S.W.; Chism Street from
the west boundary line of7th Street S.W., west to the east boundary line of 10th Street S.W.; 9th
Street S.W. from the north boundary line of Chism Street, north of the south boundary line of
Brame Street; and 10th Street S. W. from the north boundary line of Washington Street north to
the south boundary line of Brame Street, be, and the same is hereby, referred to the Planning and
Zoning Commission of the City of Paris for its recommendation; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a public hearing be held by and before the Planning
and Zoning Commission of the City of Paris at 5:30 p.m., in the City Council Chamber, City
Hall, Paris, Texas, on the 6th day of July, 1999, said public hearing to be held concerning the
closing of said streets.
