1999-124-PISD DONATED A 1982 GMC SCHOOL BUS FOR PRISONER TRANSPORT
RESOLUTION NO. 99-124
WHEREAS, the City of Paris is the owner of a 1982 GMC School Bus, VIN
IGD6PIA2CV595823, which was donated to the City of Paris by the Paris Independent School
District in August 1998, for use in transporting prisoners; and,
WHEREAS, although said school bus is still operable, it could be put to better use by the
Texas Department of Corrections; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that said school bus be declared to be surplus
property of the City of Paris and disposed of in accordance with state law; and,
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Corrections has expressed a need for said school
bus, and it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of the City of Paris that said school
bus be declared surplus and sold to the Texas Department of Corrections, Buster Cole State Jail,
for the amount of $1.00; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
1982 GMC School Bus, VIN IGD6PIA2CV595823, be, and the same is hereby, declared to be
surplus property; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the sale of said school bus to the Texas Department
of Corrections, Buster Cole State Jail, for $1.00, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
