Call meeting to order- Glee Emmite Acting Chair 4:30 pm 2. Introduction of New Members — Devin Blalock, April Coward, Frances Reed 3. Citizens Forum- None 4. Nomination/Election of new officers: Chair — Glee Emmite Vice -Chair — Cody Kelly Secretary — Frances Reed 5. Approval of minutes June 13, 2017. Motion made by Shelley McDowell, seconded by Cody Kelley. Motion carried. 6. Main Street Managers updates - a. To get new members up to speed, Cheri Bedford reviewed Main St. Program goals, the BIG grant, and Festival of Pumpkins. b. The board reviewed the set of regulations for Buskers. Cheri said performers are doing very well with tips and the regulations are simply intended to encourage people to participate, as well as to give us a way to keep track of who is performing and how they are received by the public. c. Meeting times were discussed, and consensus was to leave it on the 2nd Tuesday at 4:30. d. TDA President Award nominations are due soon, Cheri would like to have recommendations from the Board as to whom we can nominate no later than end of business 7/12/2017. Categories are at http://www.texasdowntown.org/presidents- awards.html 7. Main Street Board updates and project discussion - a. Market Square Affair — Shelley McDowell reported plans are going well. Paris Bakery, Subway, 107, Hole in the Wall, Victory Gardens and Country Belle pies are providing food for the event at their cost. Angie Briscoe is in charge of decorations. Music by Montgomery Moore. Plan is to rent padded chairs, and they are looking for donations of flatware that can continue using for future events. b. Movies in the Park — Cody Kelly reported the season is halfway through, and we are averaging 200 -250 each night. Nachos, popcorn and snow cones are all very popular. This week there will be a shield craft for kids to go with The Sword in the Stone, and entries will be judged, with crowns for winners in 2 age categories. Cody felt last week's movie, The Shaggy Dog, was not as well attended as some others have been. 211 tickets were distributed c. Vacancy Ordinance — Cleonne Drake reported that after the city council turned down the ordinance, the feeling is that business owners and property owners should be consulted before anything further is done. Cleonne and John Godwin will decide how best to proceed, and she will report back. d. Other — nothing further was discussed. 8. Committee Liaison Reports - a. HPC — Glee was not able to attend the last HPC meeting. b. Chamber & VCC -Becky Semple reported a. Tour de Paris is coming up weekend of July 15. 600 riders have registered so far, with 211 riders doing the Euro Challenge. They will receive a special jersey when they complete the race. Becky reports a large number of riders plan to stay over in town due to the Balloon Fest. PDA is putting goodie bags in hotels for participants. Goodie bags contain a magnet, map of downtown with coupons, restaurant guide, and a cell phone hotel and credit card pouch with PDA logo on it. b. Boat races coming up end of July, with Show and Shine downtown the night before. This is the third year for the Boat Races, and most participants stay in town 2 -3 nights. c. Love Civic Center bike rentals is doing very well, with over 500 bike rentals so far. 9. Future Agenda Items- None 10.
