RESOLUTION NO. 2000-179
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND ESTABLISHING A PRIORITY LIST OF
PROJECTS FOR SUBMISSION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation actively solicits input from local
governments regarding priority projects which said governments deem the most necessary and
important for consideration for construction by the Texas Department of Transportation; and,
WHEREAS, the submission of such priority lists on a periodic basis assists the Texas
Department of Transportation and the affected local government to plan and prepare and
appropriately budget for the construction of said projects as prioritized; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, deems it appropriate and
timely to submit a list of priority projects to the Texas Department of Transportation for their
consideration; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved_
Section 2. That the list of projects attached hereto as Exhibit A, in the order of priority as
deemed appropriate by the City Council of the City of Paris, beginning with the highest priority
project first, is hereby in all things approved and authorized for transmittal to the Texas Department
of Transportation for their further consideration and use.
Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to forward said list of
priority projects to the Texas Department of Transportation and to undertake any further actions and
discussions with said Department related to the attached list of priority projects.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
