RESOLUTION NO. 2000-092
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING A DEED OF DONATION OF PROPERTY
FROM R. J. BRANNON TO BE USED FOR RECREATIONAL PURPOSES;
MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is in receipt of a deed of donation from
R. J, Brannon conveying two (2) tracts of approximately 36.401 acres of land, more or less,
located on Henderson Street, west of Record Park and south of Center Street, Paris, Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the generosity of R. J, Brannon is appreciated, and it would be in the best
interests of the citizens of Paris to accept such donation; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all
things approved,
Section 2. That the donation of R, J. Brannon of two (2) tracts of land described in the
deed attached hereto as Exhibit A, to be used for recreational purposes only, be, and the same is
hereby, in all things accepted,
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after the date of passage,
PASSED AND APPROVED the 27th day of June, 2000.

payment to me of any consideration whatsoever, do hereby Give, Grant, Convey, Deliver, and
ConfIrm unto the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, of the County of Lamar, State of Texas,
whose mailing address is P. 0, Box 9037, Paris, Texas 75461-9037, to be used for recreational
use only, all that certain tract or parcel of land situated in Lamar County, Texas, and described
as follows:
TRACT ONE:
SITUATED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, State of Texas, being a part of the Reddin Russell Survey #786, and Larkin
Rattan Survey #778 and being the following tracts of land conveyed P. D. Jefferies:
All of an 8 acre tract of land and a 6 acre tract of land and a part of a 30 acre tract
of land recorded in Volume 259, Page 27; 0.75 acre recorded in Volume 239, Page
540; 1 acre recorded in Volume 254, Page 437; 0.50 acre recorded in Volume 255,
Page 180; 0.24 acre recorded in Volume 300, Page 239, Deed Records, Lamar
County, Texas, also INCLUDED are Blocks 3, 4, and 5 of the Looke Addition,
along with the adjoining streets and alley, and being the same property described
in deed from Rachel J, Faber to R, J, Brannan, et ai, filed for record on March 27,
1981, recorded in Volume 633, Page 487, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas,
and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin for corner in the north boundary line of
Henderson Street at the present southwest corner of said 8 acre tract of land;
THENCE along the north boundary line of said Henderson Street as
follows: South 69 Deg. 30 Min. East a distance of 1198 feet; South 63 Deg, 30
Min. East a distance of 269 feet; South 67 Deg. East a distance of 56 feet; South
76 Deg. East a distance of 56 feet to an iron pin for corner at the present southeast
corner of said 0,24 acre tract of land;
THENCE North a distance of 201 feet to an iron pin for corner at the
northeast corner of said 0.24 acre tract of land;

a tract of land claimed by Mrs. Rachel Faber and being the same property
described in deed from Rachel J. Faber to R. J. Brannan, et ai, filed for record on
March 27, 1981, recorded in Volume 633, Page 487, Deed Records, Lamar
County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin for corner at the most easterly southeast corner
ofa 6 acre tract ofland conveyed p, D, Jefferies by deed recorded in Volume 259,
Page 27 of the Deed Records of said county and state;
THENCE South a distance of 222 feet to an iron pin for corner at the
southeast corner of said Faber tract of land;
THENCE West along the north boundary line of Henderson Street a
distance of 198 feet to an iron pin for corner at the southeast corner of a tract of
land conveyed Robert Douglas by deed recorded in Volume "0"-2, Page 294, of
said Deed Records;
THENCE North a distance of 210 feet to an iron pin for corner;
THENCE North 86 Deg, 30 Min, East a distance of 198.4 feet to the place
of beginning and containing 0.98 acres,

of a 41,70 acre tract of land conveyed R. J. Brannan by deed recorded in Volume
633, Page 485, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas, and being more particularly
described as follows:
BEGINNING at a concrete marker for comer in the north boundary line
of Henderson Street at the southwest corner of said 41.70 acre tract of land;
THENCE South 70 Deg. 25 Min. East along the north boundary line of said
Henderson Street a distance of 579,5 feet to a concrete marker for corner;
THENCE North a distance of 100.7 feet to a concrete marker for corner;
THENCE North 70 Deg. 25 Min. West a distance of 578.7 feet to a
concrete marker for corner;
THENCE South 0 Deg, 27 Min, West along the most westerly west
boundary line of said 41. 70 acre tract ofland a distance of 100,5 feet to the place

Russell Survey #786, and being a part of a 41,70 acre tract of land conveyed R, J,
Brannan by deed recorded in Volume 633, Page 485, Deed Records, Lamar
County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a concrete marker (f) for corner in the west boundary line
of said 41.70 acre tract at the northwest corner of Lot I, Block "A," Brannan
Addition, said Addition being recorded in Envelope 249-A, Plat Records, Lamar
County, Texas;
THENCE North 0 Deg, 01 Min. East along a fence a distance of 676 feet
to an iron pin (f) for corner at the westerly northwest corner of said 41.70 acre
tract;
THENCE North 89 Deg, 48 Min, East along a fence along the westerly
north boundary line of said 41.70 acre tract a distance of 296 feet to an iron pin (s)
for corner;
THENCE South 0 Deg, 30 Min, East a distance of784. 7 feet to a chain link
post (f) for corner at the northeast corner of Lot 5, Block" A," of said Brannan
Addition;
THENCE North 70 Deg, 26 Min, West along the north boundary line of
Block "A" of said Brannan Addition a distance of 321.5 feet to the place of
beginning and containing 5,0175 acres of land,
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described premises, together with all and singular,
the rights and appurtenances thereto in anywise belonging unto the said CITY OF PARIS, its
successors and assigns forever; and I do hereby bind myself, my heirs, executors, and
administrators, to Warrant and Forever Defend all and singular the said premises unto the said
CITY OF PARIS, its successors and assigns, against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming,
or to claim the same or any part thereof,
