2000-018-RES AUTHORIZING THE TAKING OF BIDS FOR THE LEASE RESOLUTION NO. 2000-018 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE TAKING OF BIDS FOR THE LEASE OF HANGARH AT THE COX FIELD AIRPORT, FORMERLY KNOWN AS THE WRENN LEASE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of February, 1990, in Resolution No. 90-010, authorize the execution of a Lease Agreement with James M. Wrenn for property at Cox Field Airport for a term of five (5) years, beginning March 1, 1990, and ending February 28, 1995, with a five (5) year option ending February 28,2000; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of February, 1995, in Resolution No. 95-028, accept an exercise of option from James M. Wrenn to extend the term of said lease an additional five (years), expiring on February 28, 2000; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 8th day of November, 1999, in Resolution No. 99-139, authorize the Assignment of Lease from James M. Wrenn to Eric S. Clifford; and, WHEREAS, said Lease will expire on February 28, 2000, and it is deemed appropriate that the lease for Hangar H at Cox Field Airport should be advertised for bids and, WHEREAS, for the growth and safety of the Cox Field Airport, it is further deemed appropriate that such hanger be a working hangar as opposed to a storage hanger, providing an Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic with an inspection authorization; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the lease for Hangar H at Cox Field Airport be advertised for bids on the basis of such plans and specifications as the City staff shall deem appropriate, such bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of the City of Paris, City Hall, 135 1 st Street SE, Paris, Texas 75460, until 3:00 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at which time said bids will be opened in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, 135 1st Street SE, Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids will be tabulated and presented to the City Council on the 13th day of March, 2000. Section 3. That the bid specifications for Hangar H include as a requirement that such hanger be a working hangar as opposed to a storage hanger, providing an Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic with an inspection authorization. Section 4. That the current tenant of the aforesaid hanger be permitted to continue to occupy the premises on the same terms and conditions of the current lease on a carry-over basis until such time as the City shaH, in writing, request said tenant to vacate the premises. Section 5. That this resolution shaH be effective from and after its date of passage. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of February, 2000.
