Meeting Minutes
September 20, 2017
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:00 p.m.
Present:
Board members present were Carol James, Daisy Harvill, Christina Schock, Mike Lazar, Denise Kornegay,
Rebecca Umphrey, and director Priscilla McAnally. Connie Dodd was absent.
L Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as presented.
II. New Business:
Kay Stephenson, reference paraprofessional, will start Sept. 25. Angie Pollard,part-time clerk,
will work through Sept. 28. A job announcement for clerk 1 position has been posted.
III. Old Business:
There was no old business.
IV. Presentations
A. Budget Report.
No unusual expenditures and spending is on track for the year.
B. Statistical Report.
Circulation saw a slight increase of 2.64% from this time last year, and library visits decreased
3.96% from the same period.
V. Friends of the Library:
VL Director's Remarks
The director continued to explain various sections of the budget and policies to new board members
and answered further questions about the operation of the library.
The director will be on vacation October 18-20, so it was decided the next meeting will be October 25.
