RESOLUTION NO. 2000-052
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, AWARDING BID AND AUTHORIZING CONTRACT FOR
THE PERFORMANCE OF ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AS PART OF THE
CONSTRUCTION OF FIRE STATION NO. FOUR; MAKING OTHER
FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND
DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of
December, 1999, in Resolution No. 99-151, approve the advertisement for bids for furnishing
plant, labor, materials, and equipment, and for performing all work required for the "Fire Station
No, Four, Located at 241h Street S,E. and Jefferson Road Project," which bids were received until
3:00 o'clock p,m., Tuesday, January 25, 2000; and,
WHEREAS, 1he City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of
February, 2000, reject all bids and au1horize the project to be revised and rebid, in the form of
separate contracts for various portions of the project, which bids were received until 3:00 o'clock
p,m" Tuesday, the 28th day of March, 2000; and,
WHEREAS, 1he best bid for the performance of that portion of 1he project dealing wi1h
Electrical Systems was made by Service Electric, Inc" of Hugo, Oklahoma, and it should be
awarded the bid for the same; and,
WHEREAS, 1he form of the contract for such construction work, attached hereto as
Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and 1he Mayor should be authorized to execute the
same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the bid of Service Electric, Inc. for the performance of that portion of the
project dealing with Electrical Systems for the construction of "Fire Station No, Four, Located
at 24th Street S,E, and Jefferson Road Project," in the amount of$3I,IIO.73, be, and the same
is hereby, accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and
specifications included in the bid documenls,
Section 3. That the form of the contract with Service Electric, Inc" attached hereto as
Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved,
Section 4. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris, 1he contract wi1h Service Electric, Inc" upon the lerms and conditions
and in the form shown in EXhibit A, attached hereto.
Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after 1he date of passage,
PASSED AND APPROVED this 101h day of April, 2000.
