AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD MEETING
THURSDAY, AUGUST 25, 1992
COX FIELD
PARIS, TEXAS
1. The regularly scheduled meeting was called to order by
Chairman Eric Clifford at 6:00 P.M. The following members
were present:
Eric Clifford, Chairman Larry Greb
J.W. Ashmore, Recorder Tony Daigle
The following members were absent: J.W. Harrison
Victor Abeles
J.B. Ritchey
Also in attendance: Dick Boots and Jim Collier.
2. The minutes of the December 5, 1991, meeting were presented
and accepted as written by unanimous vote.
3. Dick Boots reported on the current status of Airfield
Improvement Project. The City's budgeted portion of the
project has been spent during this budget period.
4. Mr. Boots reported on the status of A.W.O.S. The component
parts of the system are stored at Cox Field. The F.A.A.
states the system should be in operation by November 1, 1992.
5. The board reviewed and discussed the 1992 -93 budget. The main
item in the 11.9% cut was the asphalt overlay of the terminal
parking lot.
6. Guidance Sign Project: The F.A.A. requires lighted guidance
signs. We have been shown the specific signs that must be
lighted, and the cost will be covered by the same type of
grant as the current Airport improvements. The lighting
project must be completed by 1994.
7. Possible future improvement projects: (See attached letter of
June 1, 1992.)
B. New Business: See letter of March 9, 1992, concerning land
acquisition and documentation of the member of itinerant
operations within one year of the construction of the project.
The City will try to determine what increase in traffic of
larger Aircraft we could anticipate if the runway were
extended and stressed to accommodate such aircraft.
9. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at
6:50 P.M.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 1992

1. The scheduled meeting was called to order by Chairman
Eric Clifford at 6:00 P.M. The following members were
present:

The following members were absent: Victor Abeles
Also in attendance: Jim Collier, Airport Manager
2. The minutes of the August 25, 1992, meeting were presented. It
was moved, seconded and approved to accept the minutes as
written.
3. The Board recommended the approval of all Aviation Permits
applied for, as listed on attached sheet.
Applications for permits were received from Stephens Ag Air,
Jimmy Wrenn, John Gann and J. B. Ritchey. All applications
were received and it was moved and seconded that all
applications for permits be approved and recommended to the
City Council for their approval.
4. A letter of resignation was received by Board Members J.W.
Harrison. It was moved, seconded and approved to accept this
resignation with grateful appreciation for his service to the
Cox Field Advisory Board. The Board recommended that the
Mayor appoint Mr. Vic Ressler to replace Mr. Harrison.
5. The board recommended J. B. Richey compile a list of larger
aircraft traffic in and out of Cox Field during 1992. This
information will be necessary to get the airport facility
upgraded.
6. The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 P.M.
